Cycle for Campers Challenge

  • Cycle on what? 1, 2, 3, or 4 wheels; by your own power or a motor or whatever
  • Cycle When?  from June 1 to June 25 then…
  • Record your distance, what you were riding on, and if you like your time, on the CFC Blog (right here by Posting a Comment)
  •  Let’s see how many KMs and miles we can record over the next 25 days.
  •  I will still ride my five 100+ KM days (after I have a few more training days) but I may have to finish at the end of the summer as we leave for Miramichi Bible Camp in 27 days.

If you cycle at all, record your distance, let’s see how far we can get!

Donations

May 18th I was treated to a special time at Valley Christian Academy in Rothesay, NB. I was there to speak in chapel as I do each month and they presented me with a donation for CFC. I will get a total soon an update the CFC site. It is over $500.

RAIN!

Showers of blessing/ Well yes, but if you are trying to cycle outside they may be cold blessings. I am getting close to the time of year that I literally cycle for campers just as the fundraiser name says. But only I have not been outside on my bike yet. I train at least 3 days a week inside but that is not enough. Praying for better weather soon.

If you would like to join me some Saturday before the end of June let me know. maybe I will cycle in your area  of New Brunswick.

2010 Report: Six of twenty-six

Four years ago when I started the Cycle for Campers
fundraiser I was asked why I was doing it. Was I doing it for the exercise? No.
Was I doing it for the scenery? No. Was I doing it to see how much money could
be raised and fill CSSM Atlantic camps? No, not really. I do it for the
campers, like the 26 this year, who needed help in order to attend  camp; praying that they would respond to the
teaching and living-out of God’s Word. The confirmation of that goal is when I
hear of CFC sponsored campers making a spiritual decision at camp like the six
this year who camp to know Christ as their Saviour.

Thank you to everyone who gave to make up the $2,720 that
was raised this year and to everyone who prayed for us as we cycled. I would
appreciate your prayers as I plan for the 5th Annual Cycle for
Campers. This year I would like to go farther each day and ride on more
Saturdays so that others can join in. I am having our new logo embroidered on
one of my jackets and hope to be able to get some promotional products for the
cycling season.

Newfoundland storm

I was looking at the pic from the the Avalon in NL this am. WOW. We need to be in prayer forthe folk there. I saw many roads that I have cycled washed out or cut off. Many times that road is the only access to that area or around the coast.
